We stand at a crossroads, a choice point, a moment in time. What we choose now will determine whether or not life as we know it will move forward into greater beauty and harmony, or will plunge us deeper into disarray and pain.
I am sure that before us, other beings such as ourselves have stood at this
same crossroads. A place of evolutionary turning. The choices we make now will allow us to move on, or, to be lost in the mists of time and to become but one more fossil upon the shelf of creation.
Free will is a dangerous weapon and it is also a magnificent gift. We have
little time. We must stand and take our place upon the balance scale of
history. And make no mistake, not choosing is still a choice.
For deep within the cavity of our own body, two serpentS fight eternally for
the power to control our every word and deed. The red serpent carries the blood of compassion and life. The black serpent champions the shadow of cruelty and death. Both good and evil move within us in a dance of deadly combat. It is our deepest self who must struggle fearlessly to bring them into harmony and balance.
It is time for each one of us to go within and watch as the forces wrestle
for supremacy. What does our future hold? Do we have the courage to change from warring animals to creatures of cooperation? Can we awaken from the confusion of misplaced instincts that served us once but now hold us in a paralyzing captivity that is leading us to our demise.
When game was scarce and weapons feeble, survival was everything and it was a natural response to come together and fight for what was needed. But now that we have the ability to create plenty for all, and now that we have weapons that can destroy the whole planet and everything that breathes upon Her, it is imperative that we mature. We must discover that sharing is a better survival strategy than the separation that we have known. We must choose whether we will unite and take care of one another, or allow the warring energies of our distant instinctual past to continue to control us and bring about our eventual fall into terror and death on a massive scale.
This is what free will stands for. We have an opportunity to work with the
Creator and choose whether we would live or die. We are allowed to choose wakefulness or sleep. We stand, as our ancestors did who dwelt in the seas, with tiny legs and frail lungs on the bank of a new possibility.
Will we take a chance and leave what is known for what must now be? Will we climb out of the swamps of our antiquated ways of competition and war onto the dry land of peace and prosperity for all?
Nature is patient. If we do not have enough power to overcome and change what must be changed, She will throw us off, like the speck of dust that we are. And She will wait quietly another many million years for another chance.
Pluck your courage. Do not wage war. Invite change. Choose peace within your own heart, that it may be born in every heart.
Mahkosi.
