KAN: SEEDING MANIFESTATION

A seed is one of the most mysterious things known to man. It holds within it the promise of new beginnings, the hope of things to come. It may seem that it is too small and uninteresting to have any significance at all. But this tiny little bit of nothing holds within it the raw potential of something miraculous and rare.

But before the potential of the seed can be realized, before the miracle of transformation can occur, it must first be buried in the ground, placed deep in the darkness, and alone it must endure the dissolving pressure that will inevitably come to bear upon it. It must go down into the mud of the good red earth and there it must wait for the urge of its own nature to take hold of it, sending it in search of the light.

What is about to be born will look nothing at all like the seed that gave it birth. How is it that from a tiny brown thing, green shoots can appear and by some strange force be sent striving upward toward the heavens? How is it that an acorn can crack and give way to an oak, powerful and tall? And how is it that an ovum will form a human being, a tiger or a whale with a heart that will pump blood, a brain, eyes and teeth. This is too strange. It is too unbelievable. And yet seeds of every kind are planted everyday, in all sorts of strange and wonderful ways and we think nothing at all, of the miracle unfolding around us.

When looking at the New Moon, how strange to think that it contains within it a Moon that will soon be full and round and white, a luminous orb that will light up the night sky. And when lost in the night, how strange to know that the darkest hour holds the promise of sunrise and the magnificent possibility of day.

But perhaps the strangest seed of all, is the seed of our own thought. For every thought is a seed planted within the ground of consciousness. It may seen unimportant, it may float by as if it were nothing at all, but each thought will bear fruit as surely as the sunflower seed will eventually come to bloom and wave majestically in the afternoon sun. It may take time, it may need to gestate somewhere out of sight, but the thoughts you think today are the seeds of what you will eventually experience tomorrow. It is a difficult thing to believe, but we are energetic and creative beings who are forever forming their own reality through the thought seeds that we plant, day in and day out. You cannot plant an orange seed and expect to watch an apple tree grow in its place. Just as you cannot plant thoughts of violence and expect peace to flower. And you cannot bury thoughts of failure and hope that you will bloom with success. It is the way of it.

Learn this lesson and you will be able to seed your life with the garden of experience within, which, for the rest of your days, you would wish to walk.
