I Once Met Some Cats

I once met some cats
Who were covered with spots
Their fur was all golden
With black polkadots

They lived in the jungle
Where the Amazon flows
They're the Lords of the forest
Which everyone knows

The monkeys they know it
The birds know it too
The iguanas, the boars
The snakes. They all do

The mother is Queen
Her husband is King
And I've had the priviledge
To spend time with them

It happened one day
While alone in the woods
I chanced on some cubs
Where an ancient tree stood

The were rolling and tumbling
In the shade of that tree
I just couldn't resist
I joined in happily

At first they were startled
As I rolled on the ground
But when they started to play
A terrible sound

Filled up the forest
Shook leaves from the trees
I was thrown on my back
Claws digging in me

I thought I would die
Right there on the spot
Her eyes were ablaze
Her breath was so hot

"I'm terribly sorry"
I started to say
"I didn't mean harm
I just wanted to play"

She stared at me coldly
I thought I was dead
She peered into my heart
Then she threw back her head

She roared through the silence
She roared mightily
She roared and she roared
She was laughing at me

Then all of a sudden
She was licking my nose
She was licking my hair
And even my toes

The cubs watched their mother
Then thought it such fun
That soon I was covered
With hundreds of tongues.
