“The Transition Process, A Personal Journey” Carole Glenn and Faye Clerget will guide participants through an experiential and profound session in which all will examine feelings and losses approaching the end of life.
10:00 AM “Compassion and the Healing Power of Music” Part 1 Keynote Speaker Ann Mortifee
During the weekend Ann will address the importance of being present and conscious in the body, especially for musicians and all those who bring their gifts to serve people who are transitioning. In addition Ann will share her experiences working with hospice patients and the music that was created as a result.

Presenters

Keynote Speaker – Ann Mortifee
Ann was born in South Africa and is known as one of Canada’s most outstanding composers and recording artists. In 1992 she received the prestigious Order of Canada. Ann is known throughout the world for her passionate and honest performances. Interfaith Panel
Ted Falcon is a Reform Rabbi of the Bet Alef Meditative Synagogue in Seattle and Bellevue, WA.. He is the author of A Journey of Awakening and co-author of Judaism for Dummies.
Jamal Rahman is a Sufi teacher and healer, is co-minister of Interfaith Community Church in Seattle. He is the author of Fragrance of Faith: The Enlightened Heart of Islam.
Rodney R. Romney recently retired as senior minister of Seattle First Baptist Church. Romney has authored Inner Space, Love Without Conditions, and Wilderness Spirituality.
Roy Wilson serves as the spiritual head of the Cowlitz Tribe. And is also a Methodist minister. His many books include Medicine Wheel and Native American Spirituality.
Clinicians
Stella Benson, CMP, is Executive Director of the International Healing Musicians Training Program. She has several CDs and several books, including The Healing Musician.
Faye Clerget, CMP, RN serves on the board of MHTP. She is an accomplished artist and sailor who recently completed service as Chairman of the Board for St. Francis Hospital.
Mary Crawford, RN, has been involved with the Dances of Universal Peace for many years. Her enthusiasm and expertise have earned her the title of “Cosmic Cheerleader.”
Carole Glenn, CMP, DSS works for Franciscan Hospice, Good Samaritan Hospice and St. Francis Hospital as a music Practitioner. She is the Area Coordinator for WA MHTP.
Murial Powers, CMP, BA-MT, is an accomplished musician and autoharp innovator. She brings exciting discoveries to the music for this instrument.
Laurie Riley, CMP, is one of the founders of MHTP. She is an outstanding harper and recording artist. Her many books include Body, Mind, and Spirit.
Melissa Thieme, CMP, RN, is a nurse for Providence Hospice of Seattle. She is an outstanding harper and recording artist who created the original medical curriculum for MHTP.
Lynn Walters, RN, LMT, has a private massage therapy practice. She is a member of the Holistic Nurses Association and also is certified to work with guided imagery.
