The Mask of ESKOVA - Sunnie Lindell
One late night a bag of clay that I had been saving called to me. It was as if my hands were guided, it was as if they were not mine. This mask was created ceremoniously, by candlelight. I knew that a Wise One was coming forth. When I was finished, I knew who it was......ESKOVA, my teacher's guide; The Sangoma, or Shaman who is portrayed in "When the Rains Come." This mask is sacred to me and sits protectively in the temple/home of my teacher, Ann Mortifee.

Oh great Wise Woman who has guided us through the darkness, we look to you to lead us into the light. We look to you to lead us while we take the next steps into a whole new way of being on this planet: a way of Truth, a way of transformation, a way of healing ourselves and helping those around us to heal themselves. Oh great elder, I honor you, I touch your feet and give you gifts. It is you and Nomkubulwana, the Great Mother who we must follow to learn how to heal this Earth. Thank you for your guidance Eskova, thank you from the deepest depths of my heart.
